It is that time of year again...SETX annual Octoberfest! No. not Oktoberfest but a gathering of geocachers to hang out, play games, meet new people, and of course, Geocache. This year's event will be located at Camp Niwana, located near Woodville, Texas. Camp Niwana is a rustic camp that has been operated by the Camp Fire, Inc. for many generations. It's screened cabins hold from 6 to 16 campers/geocachers. Adjacent showers and bathrooms have hot and cold water. A large lodge with dining room and stone fireplace will be the setting for opening and closing activities. Cabins are available to rent for the entire weekend's festivities. Please get with Lois Glen (aka Skipbo) at 409-983-0656 or coglenn@sbcglobal.net to reserve your cabin. Cabins are $100 rental for the weekend. T-Shirts will once again be available for $15 each for sizes youth large through Adult XL. Sizes above XL are available for the additional cost of $1 for each X above XL. All T-shirts must be pre-ordered and paid by September 17, 2019 (3rd Tuesday). Paypal available. Contact Dorothy Way (aka momshark) at 409-223-9905 or momshark@aol.com to place orders. Activities will include: Friday evening (Oct. 11) Meet and Greet with Momshark - Registration begins during event Saturday morning (Oct. 12) Breakfast at Tiffany's Saturday morning at 0900 with Zippertiff Octoberfest 1000 - opening ceremonies (at the flag pole) 1230 - Group picture 1300 - Pot lunch lunch (in Lodge) - electrical plugs available 1500 - closing ceremonies (at the flag pole) Octoberfest events will include: trackable table, split the pot, Closest to the pin, poker run, Guess the number of cache containers, door prizes and more...
