Welcome to Spokane's newest bridge! The cool bridge celebrated its birth on May 7, 2019. The bridge cost $15.4 million to build and wasn't without its controversies. Opponents of the bridge could see no use for it and showed up at a City Council Meeting calling it the Bridge to Hookerville, since it links the new University District to the Sprague Avenue District, which used to not be such a nice area of town. Members of the City Council objected to the name-calling, but the City Attorney confirmed that the opponents indeed had a constitutional right to use the language even in a council meeting. Another opponent then stood and spent his entire three minutes of testimony time saying "Bridge to Hookerville" over and over again. In the end, the proponents won out and the beautiful bridge was built. A contest was held to name it, and thankfully, the title "University District Gateway Bridge" won. The bridge was a long time in the making. It initially was envisioned and designed by Washington State University students over a decade ago. Once you find the cache, be sure to stroll across the bridge and admire it and the trains rumbling below.
The hint tells you exactly where it is at. If you don't want to know exactly where it is at, don't read the freakin' hint.
