Please join us for the 17th annual MGS Summer Picnic at the Old National Pike District Park! Everyone with an interest in geocaching is invited to come and join in the fun. You need not be a member of the MGS to attend. Whether new to the game, or a seasoned veteran, this event is for you! New to the area? Visiting from out of town? Feel free to drop in and introduce yourself - we’d love to meet you!
The park is open 8am to sunset. We will be setting up in Shelter #2. Amenities and rules include:
-Alcoholic beverages are prohibited![]()
-Pets must be on a leash at all times
-horseshoe pits (bring your shoes)
-2 playgrounds
-volleyball net (bring a ball)
-well-maintained walking/hiking trails
-mister posts
-drinking water
-port-o-potties
-baseball, combo soccer/football, and multi-purpose ball fields
-Park only in designated spaces - do not park on the grass
The silent auction will be open for bids throughout the day (until 3pm) and feature a wide range of items. We hope to post, on the MGS web site, a list of donated items up for auction as the event approaches. We will also be conducting the popular Tag-A-Palooza again - see this MGS Forum post for more details.
Bring your favorite potluck dish to share. Post a ‘Will Attend’ log if you are planning to come, and please mention what dish you plan to bring. A list of items - needed and committed - will be updated and can also be found in the MGS Forums.
This event will be held rain or shine. We hope to see you there!
