Tuoriksen latonäkymä
Riutulan lastenkodilla (1906-1978) oli parhaimmillaan kymmenen hehtaaria viljeltyä peltoa Keisossa, Tuoriksella ja pihapiirissä. Viimeisimmät peltosarat raivattiin Tuorikseen 1960-luvun alkupuolella. Suosta raivatut Tuoriksen peltosarat olivat vetisiä ja sijaitsivat toisella puolella Kettujokea, joten niiden hoito onnistui vain hevospelillä.
Jo 1950-luvulla Tuorikseen oli rakennettu kaksi latoa. Maatalouden loputtua lastenkodista vuonna 1966, siirrettiin hirsinen lato muualle, mutta lautalato jäi Tuoriksen pellolle muistuttamaan menneestä ajasta.
View to the Tuoris
At its best the cultivated land of the Riutula children’s home amounted to 10 hectares. The last field was cleared to the Tuoris on 1950 in the 1960’s. Some of the grasslands on the Tuoris Swamp were very wet and only a horse was able to do the work there.
The Tuoris had also two hay barns, but after the end of agriculture another hay barn was moved elsewhere. One hay barn is still standing in the Tuoris and remind of past times.
