Geocache Description:

This Cache is placed as part of the 2019 Taconic Region Geocache Challenge.  The NYS Parks Saratoga - Capital region and the Central region will be hosting similar challenges!!  Find 45 challenge caches in the Taconic Region and stamp your passport to earn a trackable geo-coin.  Ten caches found in the Sara-Cap and/or Central region Challenge can be used toward the Taconic Challenge.

This cache contains a unique stamp which must stay with the cache. Use this stamp to mark your passport. This stamp is NOT a trade item. Some of the items in the cache are park souvenirs and do not need to be replaced with a trade item.

There is a fee to enter this park. The park use fee is $5 and collected on weekends from 4/1 - 10/31 11am - 4pm, or use your Empire Pass card. There is an additional fee if you would like a tour of the house.  Be sure to check each park or site’s unique web page for possible trail maps and other facility specific information. www.parks.ny.gov .

You are looking for a traditional ammo can stocked with tradables. Please make sure that the lid is closed before you leave.

One of Clermont's lesser known trails, this cache will take you to a secret grove of cedars, some of which are laden with woody vines. It's a beautifully serene and private part of the park. You can head over head either from Backtrail Junction cache or from the History Sign Parking.
