Troup Park is a little reserve situated at the entrance to the main street of Werribee.
The Park consists of several noted specimens of living organisms.
Some of these are noted on the Victorian Heritage Database.
Included here are a few noted specimens of Arecaceae.
The Arecaceae are a botanical family of perennial plants.
They take shape in many forms such as climbers, shrubs, trees and stemless plants.
The more common name that people refer to is the palm.
A common species known as Phoenix Canariensis exits here in a number of forms.
Otherwise known as the Canary Island Date Palm, it grows in mild winter climates down to -10֯C and thrives in wet-summer or humid-subtropical climates that exist down the Eastern seaboard of Australia.
It is easy to recognize by its crown of leaves and trunk characteristics.
The park area here has recently been refurbished allowing for an excellent opportunity to hide a cache while muggle’s nearby go about their daily business.
