Geocache Description:

This is a field puzzle cache on the Walkway Over the Hudson.  The small LnL container you are looking for is not at the posted coordinates. You must do some simple math to determine the final coordinates.
The Poughkeepsie – Highland Bridge is the oldest surviving steel cantilever bridge in the world and, when built, had the longest truss and cantilever spans. The bridge deck stands 212 feet above the river's surface and is 6,768 feet (1.28 miles) long, making it the longest, elevated pedestrian bridge in the world. The bridge opened to the public on October 3, 2009.
The starting coordinates will bring you near the middle of the bridge.  Look for a sign that has a four-digit number in a blue background. Discard the first digit; we will be working with the last three.
For the final north coordinates, subtract 226 from the above three-digit number. This result will be ABC and will go into N 41 42.ABC.
For the final west coordinates, subtract 593 from the starting three-digit number. This result will be XYZ and will go into W 073 57.XYZ.
Now, go get it!  Muggles abound here, so put on your cloak of invisibility!
East side parking:  There is a paved lot on Parker Avenue that used to charge $5, but when this cache was placed the signs were covered. There is also an unpaved lot nearby.
West side parking:  You can park along the street if you carefully read the signs.  Otherwise, parking is free in the Highland Rail Trail lot.
