La tour des archives

La Tour des Archives (qui Ă©tait auparavant un donjon) est l'un des seuls vestiges du chateau qui fut le plus important de Vernon (je cherche encore des infos Ă  ce sujet), contrastant ainsi avec l'architecture de l'espace culturel Philippe Auguste. On peut l'apercevoir depuis la rue Potard ou la rue du pont, mais c'est dans le jardin des arts que vous la verrez le mieux.
Il reste un autre bout de mur du chateau sur le cÎté du centre culturel.

Vous pouvez entrer par la rue des Ă©curies des gardes depuis la rue d'AlbufĂ©ra ou la rue Victor Hugo. Cette rue ou plutĂŽt son nom est le seul souvenir qu'il reste des Ă©curies des gardes (d'oĂč le nom de la rue). Ces Ă©curies abritaient une partie de l'Ă©quipage des gardes du roi (de France oui oui !!) Tout a Ă©tĂ© dĂ©moli depuis Ă  l'exception d'un bĂątiment qui sert encore de rĂ©serve Ă  la mĂ©diathĂ©que.
Passage possible par le centre culturel Philippe Auguste.

Attention ! Le jardin des arts est fermé la nuit (Voir photo indiquant les horaires)

The Archives Tower (which was previously a dungeon) is one of the only vestiges of the castle which was the most important in Vernon (I am still looking for information on this subject), thus contrasting with the architecture of the Philippe cultural space August. You can see it from rue Potard or rue du pont, but it is in the garden of the arts that you will see it best.
There is another end of the castle wall on the side of the cultural center.

You can enter via rue des écuries des gardes from rue d'Albuféra or rue Victor Hugo. This street or rather its name is the only memory that remains of the guards' stables (hence the name of the street). These stables housed part of the king guards' crew (from France yes yes !!) Everything has since been demolished with the exception of a building which still serves as a reserve for the media library.
Passage possible through the Philippe Auguste cultural center.
