Whiskey For My Men, Beer For My Horses #54 Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

tealeaf: What a terrific turn out from visiting cachers We often get one or two but wow. Even some who have done the AT. Best of luck to those who still have games ahead of them this week. We're trying new venues while the Pig is gone and this gets a mixed review. They do have a delightful patio but full sun made us reconsider and come inside. Had most of the inside to ourselves, an extremely rare Whiskey happening. Only one staff person who took orders, cooked, served and cleaned up which slowed things a lot but we got what we ordered and it was good. We thought the less pub-like atmosphere might draw some families who hesitate about bringing kids to a true pub (even thought they are always welcome) but the only kid was a visitor from Oregon whose dad had grown up in Alamogordo. Sorry not to hear from the Pig but brain freeze from those half gallons of ice cream must have set in. See some of you next month when Tux will host at the Corrales Bistro.

Geocache Description:

18 June 2019, 17:00 - 19:00

This is the Fifty Fourth Sandpig Geocaching Micro Beer Event. It will be held at the Bar and Grill at Ladera golf course. They will reserve an area on the patio for us.  We are keeping this going at various venues while Sandpig (aka SkinnyPig, HungryPig, IcePig. WetPig, TiredPig, SleepyPig, DancingPig) is out conquering the Appalachian Trail. If they are where they can get a signal, we hope to check in with him and Chris wherever they are, during the event.  Despite the title, consumption of whiskey and beer is not necessary although the non-drinkers can be as rowdy as the partakers. Kids are welcome if they can guarantee that their parents will behave.  Should someone actually bring a horse, we'd be delighted to buy its beer.

The Event will start at 5:00 PM (1700 hours) to 7:00 PM (1900 hours).

The Event name comes from a great song by Toby Keith. PLEASE LET US KNOW IN ADVANCE IF YOU'RE COMING

"LIFE MOVES PRETTY FAST. IF YOU DON'T STOP AND LOOK AROUND ONCE IN A WHILE, YOU COULD MISS IT."(Ferris Bueller).

"We all like to drink beer and eat? We might as well make a Geocaching Event out of it." (Sandpig).

The purpose of this event is to talk and exchange Geocaching information. No purchase is required.
