Visible from sidewalk, no need to go bushwhacking. Best seen at night as you lean over the black fence looking west and down. This is the spot where Okemos Road cut off the Mill Race and filled it in from here to Ferguson Park, where the race had started from upstream Red Cedar River. At Ferguson Park in the late 1800's there used to be two mills - a tall grist mill and a smaller lumber mill. Only a few stones remain in Ferguson Park. The Race (looking like a gully) goes from here to the Red Cedar River to the west, downstream. Most of the race is within the wild natural area of Wonch Park. The Park's NE boundary is evidenced by the black fence. Only a small section furthest NW is on private land.
