Round Trip Otok VIS (the first Multi-Cache on Vis)
A few years ago, I placed my first cache here on the beautiful island of Vis and at this time it was even the first cache in Komiža. Now it is time for another one, connecting the two main villages Vis and Komiža with the first Multi cache on the island. The final stage is a little bit outside of Komiža.
For the first stage a GPS is unnecessary, for the final stage you will definitely need one, though.
The first stage is in Kut, which is a part of the main village Vis.
Starting from the village park with nice big palm trees, it is a very nice walk along the waterfront. On the way there are a lot of cafes, restaurants, old stone houses, craft shops and so on. Just go ahead to the end of the waterfront in Kut. There you will find a tile on the ground with a typical symbol for navigation. You will know what I mean when you are there.
There is a two digit number engraved on the ground beside that symbol. On the ground it looks like [x][y]; so we take variable [x] as the first digit and [y] as the second one. Just for validation: [x]-[y] = -2.
The final stage is at this position:
N 43° 0[[x]-2]] , [[x]*2] [[y]+2] 0
O 16° 0[x] , [[x]+4] 0 [[y]-2]
The location coordinates should be very accurate; they are taken from a Garmin GPS after averaging the position for a few minutes.
I would suggest taking two days for the mentioned cache; both villages are really nice and the final is at the start of a trail with magnificent views of Komiža. And of course in Komiža there are nice beaches for swimming too. Don't rush yourself.
