Kiltonga Nature Reserve is on the outskirts of Newtownards and provides an easy walk around a scenic lake. Plenty of wildlife can be seen and there are excellent views of Scrabo Tower. While the paths around the lake are fine for wheelchairs help would be required to access this cache.

Ample parking is available at the given waypoint, but beware of the Greylag Geese and Mute Swans, when their goslings and cygnets are nearby, as they may venture on to the paths.
Kiltonga Nature Reserve.
The cache is not at the posted coordinates, which would take you into the middle of the lake! To find the cache you must solve the following word puzzle. Below are the scientific names of seven of our favourite birds that can be seen around Kiltinga. Place their common names in the grid to find another species that inhabits the reserve. Put the scientific name of that bird into the Certitude Checker to reveal the final location, and a hint. You will also see a spoiler photo that shows where this bird is nesting.
You'd better hurry to solve the puzzle, and find the cache, before the fledglings leave the nest!
- Pyrrhula pyrrhula
- Regulus regulus
- Turdidae
- Certhiidae
- Aegithalos caudatus
- Alcedo atthis
- Periparus ater
Good luck !
