Please take care when looking for Muggels. To search, you do not have to enter the interior of the basilica. You do not have to go to the water either. Please pay attention to the stone rocks (children)! The cache is easily accessible.

The Basilica of Ágios Stéfanos
The remarkable early Christian Basilica of Ágios Stéfanos dates from the 5th century (469 and 554 AD). It is located in the beautiful scenery of the Bay of Kamari, opposite the offshore island of Kastri. It was discovered in 1932 by Italian archaeologists around professor Luciano Laurenzi. The masonry is still well preserved. The columns were rebuilt, along with other historical remains. The tesserae of the floor were covered with gravel and a grid to protect them from the weather.

The opposite island of Kastri also offers a very good photo backdrop. After the photo shoot you can enjoy the beautiful sandy beach with turquoise water. The beach is nice and flat and invites to a longer stay.

Achtet beim Suchen bitte auf Muggels. Zum Suchen müsst ihr das Innere der Basilika nicht betreten. Ihr müsst auch nicht ans Wasser. Bitte auf die Steinfelsen achten (Kinder)! Der Cache ist einfach zugänglich.

Die Basilika von Ágios Stéfanos
Die sehenswerte frühchristliche Basilika von Ágios Stéfanos stammt aus dem 5. Jahrhundert (469 und 554 nach Christus). Sie liegt in der traumhaften Kulisse der Bucht von Kamari, gegenüber des vorgelagerten Eilands Kastri. Sie wurde 1932 von italienischen Archäologen um Professor Luciano Laurenzi entdeckt. Das Mauerwerk ist noch gut erhalten. Die Säulen wurden wiederaufgerichtet, zusammen mit weiteren historischen Überresten. Die Mosaiksteine des Bodens wurden mit Kies und einem Gitter abgedeckt, um sie vor der Witterung zu schützen.

Die gegenüberliegende Insel Kastri bietet dazu noch eine sehr gute Fotokulisse. Nach dem Fotoshooting kann man den wunderschönen Sandstrand mit dem türkisfarbenen Wasser genießen. Der Strand ist schön flach und lädt zu einem längeren Aufenthalt ein.
