This is an easy observation task with a couple of questions for you that will not tax your brain too hard.
It is basicly all about fossils from a bye gone time.
Sedimentary rocks
Sedimentary rocks are types of rock that are formed by the accumulation or deposition of small particles and subsequent cementation of mineral or organic particles on the floor of oceans or other bodies of water at the Earth's surface.

BRECCIA

LIMESTONE

SANDSTONE
Clastic sedimentary rocks such as breccia, conglomerate, sandstone, siltstone, and shale are formed from mechanical weathering debris. Chemical sedimentary rocks, such as rock salt, iron ore, chert, flint, some dolomites, and some limestones, form when dissolved materials precipitate from solution.
Igneous rocks form from molten rock, and rarely have fossils in them. Metamorphic rocks have been put under great pressure, heated, squashed or stretched, and fossils do not usually survive these extreme conditions. Generally it is only sedimentary rocks that contain fossils.
This is the main reason why among the three major types of rock forms, fossils are most commonly found in sedimentary rock. Unlike most igneous and metamorphic rocks, sedimentary rocks form at temperatures and pressures that do not destroy fossil remnants. Often these fossils may only be visible under magnification.
Here are a few examples of fossils that have been found.

LEPIDODENDRON

SEA SPONGE
Igneous and metamorphic rocks do not contain fossils due to the high temperatures and pressures involved in their formation. Igneous rocks form when magma cools, and metamorphic rocks form in the extremely high temperature and pressure under Earth's crust.
Cyprus has an abundance of fossils as it has large areas of Sedimentary Rock, sandstone Limestone being the predominant types.
At the listed coordinates as you walk along the nature trail you will find a very large rock along the path and as this is an Earthcache you must answer a some simple questions for me to allow the acceptance of a find here.
I will require you to send me the answers to the following questions.
1, Examine the boulder at the listed coordinates and using the information above and if required any further research you feel necessary to tell me what type of rock are you looking at and what is its approx size ?
2 Please examine the boulder for fossils that are present, Tell me what you believe these fossils are?
3 One of the fossils is a lot longer than the other, please estimate the length of the larger fossil that is present here.
4 Not obligatory but a photo from the area would be nice but please, no spoilers.
You may log your find straight away without waiting for an answer, I will let you know if I need more information of your discovery here.
Send your answers via the message option or Email, either will be fine.
