This is the second cache in the series. You can do them in any order and log them as found like any other cache that is out there. However, in order to find the final (#7), you'll need to use what you find in #s 1-6 to figure out where to go to locate the final cache. PLEASE do NOT take any of the "clues" within each of the six caches, as that would render the final unfindable. All the caches are placed in Indianapolis Parks Department managed land, with the exception of the final. All of the caches have limited hours of availability, due to posted hours of operation NO NIGHT CACHING!Please do NOT take either the fairy or Norlod's gem.
Norlod the gnome emerged from his underground home this spring, just like every prior year. However, Norlod had an extremely bad winter and was grumpy beyond belief, so much so that the cavorting pixies he encountered upon coming to the surface filled him with such angst that he decided to make them feel as rotten as he did. Rather than give them an earful, he took it much further than anticipated. Norlod actually managed to ensnare six of the flying pixies, all around Indianapolis, trapping them with his magic and keeping them from flying free. Norlod was able to do this by using his magic and forfeiting one of his jewels to hold the spell needed to keep the pixie from escaping and flying away. The other pixies, once they realized what was happening, banded together under their queen to prevent him from capturing any more. They managed to capture him themselves and tied him up using their own magic, taking his beloved gems in the process. They let him know that they would only release him and return his gems to him if he would promise to show them how to free their fellow pixies. Norlod agreed and told them how to counteract his magic, thereby freeing the captured pixies from his spell. All they needed to do was recite the word on the gem and the pixie would be released from his spell. Once all of his captured pixies were released from their bondage, the pixies released Norlod, making him promise never to do anything like this again. The queen also let him know where his gems were hidden, by cleverly using Norlod himself and the very words on the six gems Norlod used to magically ensnare the pixies. Her revenge on Norlod was particularly sweet to the pixies because Norlod was unable to figure out how to retrieve his gems and to this day, they sit unfound, unclaimed, and awaiting someone clever enough to figure out the riddle of the queen of the pixies.
You are going to be one of the pixies that sets out to find all six fairies that Norlod captured and free them from their magical prison. Once you find all six fairies and break the spell that holds them, you'll need to figure out the riddle of the queen in order to locate Norlod's gems.
This was the second fairy that Norlod was able to capture and it was more of an ambush than it was a chase. By this time, the pixies were aware that someone was pursuing them for some reason, as they're very social creatures. This particular pixie was on her way to a previously scheduled meeting and wasn't paying attention to her surroundings so Norlod was easily able to capture her by jumping out from behind a tree and wrapping up her wings with his arms so she couldn't fly away.
