Tra il 21 e il 22 maggio 2019 mi sono accorto che la successione dei codici GC stava arrivando ad una cifra bella tonda: GC88888.
Ho provato dunque ad aggiudicarmi il codice e, ben sapendo che sarebbe stato impossibile, ho ottenuto comunque un simpatico GC8888F.
Già, ma cosa farne? Molte volte ho cambiato idea sulla cache da proporre finché ieri ho trovato una simpatica challenge a punti (non è ancora stata pubblicata, ma gli autori sono i geocacher australiani Brad&Janet, cui va il credito per l'idea). Ed eccola qua, dedicata agli eventi, le... Fiestas di noi geocacher :)
Per poter poter loggare questa challenge dovete aver raggiunto la quota 8.888 punti tenendo conto che:
- 8 punti li ottenete per ogni Evento normale cui avete partecipato
- 88 punti per un CITO
- 888 punti per un Mega e per un Community Celebration Event (i prossimi si terranno nel 2020 ed erano precedentemente denominati Lost&Found Event - si tennero nel 2010)
- 8.888 punti per un Giga e per un Geocaching HQ Block Party
- 88.888 punti per un Geocaching HQ Celebration (si terrà nel 2020; il precedente era denominato Groundspeak Lost and Found Celebration e si tenne nel 2010)
Per verificare di avere o meno i requisiti usate il checker sottostante:
Ricordate di riportare il vostro punteggio nel log.
Se non avete ancora i requisiti potete registrare il found con una nota e poi trasformarlo in found una volta raggiunti.
Ah, naturalmente la cache si trova alle coordinate postate.

Event Cache, 107 × 8 = 856 points
Cache In Trash Out Event, 11 × 88 = 968 points
Mega-Event Cache, 3 × 888 = 2664 points
Giga-Event Cache, 1 × 8888 = 8888 points
Total 13376 points of 8888 required.

To qualify for this challenge you must have gained at least 8,888 points, considering that:
- 8 points are assigned for every normal Event you attended
- 88 points for a CITO
- 888 points for a Mega and a Community Celebration Event (the next will be held in 2020 and they were previously called Lost&Found Event - held in 2010)
- 8,888 points for a Giga and for a Geocaching HQ Block Party
- 88,888 points for a Geocaching HQ Celebration (to be held in 2020; the former was called Groundspeak Lost&Found Celebration and was held in 2010)

Remember to report your score in the log.
