Geocache Description:

On a hill by the town of Archangelos, 30 kilometres south of Rhodes Town, sit the ruins of a castle of the Knights Hospitaller, built as part of the defences of the island after Constantinople fell in 1453. Little more than the impressive outer walls remain today, but these together with the view of the surrounding area are worth the relatively easy climb.

The large graffito on the walls says "OXI", the Greek word for "No", and was painted in the 1970s during the time of the military dictatorship and has seemingly been refreshed since. Inside the walls there is a small church, with several chairs where you can sit in the shade of some large old trees.

The cache is a small magnetic nano which is too small to contain a pen, so please bring your own for signing the logbook. If logbook is full, a replacement can be found at the place shown in the photo.
