HC SVNT DRACONES
This Latin phrase has inspired fear and wonder for hundreds of years. Translated, the phrase reads, "Here Be Dragons"
Medieval cartographers would sketch dragons and other mythical beasts on their maps to signify unknown and uncharted areas. The phrase was used to warn of unknown dangers or inspire unknown adventures.
My son recently celebrated his 12's birthday. The party was themed with a variety of mythical beasts, including dragons. Each guest was given a dragon tagged as a travel bug. Each guest named his dragon, endowed his dragon with special powers and gave each dragon a special mission. These 7 dragons will begin their journey from this cache into the unknown adventure ahead.
If you are one of the first to stumble across this geocache, heed the ancient warning. Here be dragons.
As a courtesy for those who follow, please limit yourself to one dragon travel bug (feel free to discover them all though) so that others have the opportunity to help these beasts on their journey. And remember, if you take something, please leave something in return!
