This is another cache in the Experience Tioga County NY GeoTour. Spend some time to experience the charm that Tioga County has to offer. Enjoy visiting different sites throughout the county with geocaches hidden from edge to edge. As you find each cache and discover new places, gather the codes to assemble and create the final phrase. Submit this to Tioga County Tourism to receive the prize for the tour completion.
This cache also has an arrowhead with “FTF” on it for the first geocacher that finds it, to turn in for an extra point or keep as a souvenir.
The cache is not at the posted coordinates. This is a 3 stage multi that all stages are well within ½ mile of starting point.
You will need a UV light (phones with UV app don’t seem strong enough) and want a standard flashlight (incandescent or brighter LED work well). Both of these lights are used in the same place but are not immediately next to each other.
When you arrive at the final stage, this is where the river level was during the peak of the 100 year flood that this area experienced in 2006. It was followed by what we jokingly refer to as the 105 year flood that the area experienced in 2011. The second flood was nowhere near as high in this area (other areas were worse in the 105 year flood), thus no marker.
You are looking for a small lock-n-lock container with a write in the rain type of logbook. There is some room for swag and trackables.
