This spot is too good not to have an active cache so budair_3's Stuck on Hawkings has been recreated (and moved slightly to improve the view). V1 had 187 finds (17 favourite points) from 2006, before being archived in 2017.
Hawkings Point Lookout sits atop of a huge granite tor and offers spectacular views over Picnic Bay and towards Townsville to the south west and Rocky Bay, Nelly Bay and Geoffrey Bay to the north east.
Follow the well defined trail for 600m from the trailhead waypoint up to the cache. The last 30m or so will require you to go 'off-road' to a less visited, but equally spectacular viewpoint.
