A hundred years ago this area was the location of Tall Timber Dairy Farm owned by William H Williams and his wife Helon. Im not sure of the exact date that they bought the property from a guy named Brodie who had a mill on Brodie Creek which runs through the property. When I went to work for the City of Little Rock in 1973 my boss was E Grainger Williams their son. In the early fifties Graingers Mom and Dad died within a few years of each other and Graingers Uncle and Aunt along with their two kids moved into the farm house which was located about a hundred yards south of here at the entrance to the neighborhood to help care for Grainger and his sisters and operate the farm. I believe that the Dairy Farm was in operation untill about the mid sixties. The city purchased a lot of the old farm in the seventies and constructed Brodie Creek park. The cane that you see in parks and golf courses as well as the zoo all came from cane that was planted around the farm house. You are looking for a plastic Tupperware container. Be sure and walk a little further into the cane after finding the cache to enjoy the full effect of the Urban Jungle.
