This is another cache in the Experience Tioga County NY GeoTour. Spend some time to experience the charm that Tioga County has to offer. Enjoy visiting different sites throughout the county with geocaches hidden from edge to edge. As you find each cache and discover new places, gather the codes to assemble and create the final phrase. Submit this to Tioga County Tourism to receive the prize for the tour completion.
This cache also has an arrowhead with “FTF” on it for the first geocacher that finds it, to turn in for an extra point or keep as a souvenir.
“Mazing” – perplexing, confusing.
There are several steps to perform to get to the logbook. When performed correctly each step will function easily without much force. Please do not force - it is sturdy but not indestructible. There is a combination lock, a magnetic catch and a gate latch that must be operated to get to the container. (in that order) Everything necessary is already there.
To get the combination you will need to find the headstone for Oliver B. Sanford in the cemetery across the road from the GZ. It is Right AB – Left CD – Right EF
A = number of words in line 5
B = number of letters/numbers in line 2, punctuation and spaces do NOT count
C = add the number of “c”s and “p”s on the headstone
D = number of lines with words NOT counting the large curved name at the top
E = number of UPPER CASE “D”s
F = Oliver’s birth year minus Margaret’s birth year
You are looking for a small container with a write in the rain type of log and a pencil. There is a little room for swag and trackables.
