Geocache Description:

Cabin in the Woods!

This cache is part of the Project Atoz series.  Click here for more information.

This is a classic hiking multi-cache.  A rare breed.

"Hiking" may be a bit of a stretch, as 99% of the journey is walking on the Porter Fork Road.  Good walking shoes should be sufficient for this one.

Don't let "Road" discourage you, as this is a truly beautiful walk, closed to cars other than cabin owners'.  Expect two or three cars an hour in the summer and none in the winter.

There is no cell service in Porter Fork and GPS reception is challenging.  Plan ahead and use the hints!

All three stages should be accessible in Winter in all but the most heavy of snows.

Parking coordinates are included as a Waypoint.  Expect to walk about 1.5 miles one-way at a moderate grade.  A fantastic evening hike!

Stage One of three is at the posted coordinates and will provide you with the location of Stage Two.  The second stage contains the coordinates of the final cache.

Dogs on leash are allowed.

Don't forget to make a note of the clue word on the cache log.  You will need it to solve Project Atoz!

Enjoy!
