This is another cache in the Experience Tioga County NY GeoTour. Spend some time to experience the charm that Tioga County has to offer. Enjoy visiting different sites throughout the county with geocaches hidden from edge to edge. As you find each cache and discover new places, gather the codes to assemble and create the final phrase. Submit this to Tioga County Tourism to receive the prize for the tour completion.
This cache also has an arrowhead with “FTF” on it for the first geocacher that finds it, to turn in for an extra point or keep as a souvenir.
Some folks call this Nichols Pond Park, the sign says Nichols Lake & Park – which do you think it really is? Some suggest it can only be a lake if there is any spot deep enough that plants cannot grow.
You will need to take a stroll along the park perimeter to find all the pieces needed to locate the cache container. You should be near an informational type of post with plexiglas plates and see more than a dozen similar posts along the water’s edge. Collect the letter/number combinations (10 in all) that you need for the second stage. The second stage coordinates will also be found on one of these other posts. Use the letter/number combinations at the second stage to decipher the coordinates to the final.
This has been a busy little park each time visited so please exercise stealth. You are looking for a small lock-n-lock container with a write in the rain type of log and a pencil. There is a little room for swag and trackables.
