A small tube in a Camo bag
This series of Geocaches grew from a request by the Ranger responsible for Horsbere who wants to attract people to the area. The best way to promote this is by placing some simple traditional caches So was born the Ranger's Walk.
This cache acknowledges the wonderful work carried out by The Friends of Horsbere Brook. They have affected significant changes in recent years. An embryonic woodland, a perry orchard and native hedging have been planted. Together with path-trimming, bramble-bashing and willow whomping. Native flower seeds have been scattered on the Mound. They have been joined on many occasions by groups of willing Geocachers and many CITO Events have been organized and are on-going.
The area is now 'light-years' away from the old turnip field -pre 2009. A muddy, quaggy land which was devoid of character.
