This cache is hidden on the slopes of the Mustang Hills off Hwy 66 in the Rainy Pass area. There is a sketch map included in the cache images if you are unfamiliar with the area. It is in a spot where I previously hid a cache but had archived it, fearing it would have been destroyed by the clear-cutting last winter. Well, it turned out that very few of the cache locations in the area were impacted and Spray Lakes Sawmills did not damaged any of the existing trails in the area. They did use the old Hwy 66 alignment but they repaired it and even constructed some drainage control ditches to minimize erosion, good job!
Mrs BVPete and I met in Banff in 1965 where she lived and where I was working a summer job at the Banff Center. It developed into something far more romantic during the following summer when I returned from Brandon, Manitoba to my Banff summer job. Then, I decided to just stay in Banff for the winter before continuing my education at NAIT in Edmonton. We became engaged during that winter and started making plans to be married once I graduated. So, the next few years included much study and many bus trips to Banff to spend time with Christine. It was easier for one 10 month period when she was also in Edmonton taking Nursing Aid training. Then it finally all came together in 1969 and we were married in the Anglican Church in Banff ( since we were both long time Anglicans). Then, time started accelerating, children came (1 Daughter and 2 Sons), then they all grew up and moved out with families of their own, Grandchildren came (3 Grandson's and 1 Granddaughter) and somehow we got older and slower and then, in but a blink of an eye 50 years had come and gone! Ah well, it was a wonderful time that we enjoyed immensely and we are looking forward to however many more years we get to be together on this earth.
