This old bridge was part of highway 2 until the bypass was built and it was blocked off around 1983. This section was a two lane "highway" and all vehicles had to travel through Snohomish and pass over it to get to Monroe and the mountains. Thankfully, Snohomish only had 2 or 3 stop lights at the time. People really wondered if the bypass would reduce traffic. There was a quick reduction in the number of 18 wheelers driving past the busy high school and wandering the main streets of town. But the growing population has made Snohomish streets as busy as ever.
Congrats on being first to find, DM&K Cachers.
