Gold Nick Bridge dates back to the late 18th Century. This once grandiose bridge spans a small tributary of the Blackadder Water and was utilised by vistors for Blackadder House coming from Allanton village. When Blackadder House was demolished in 1925, the stone was removed from the estate via this bridge and the heavy traffic resulted in structural damage to the bridge, which has continued to deteriorate ever since. Sadly, as the bridge is in such poor condition, it is no longer safe to cross it. The footpath is now diverted around the edge of the field.
