A Flash Mob is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, do something unusual for a brief period of time, and then quickly disperse.

This event is part of the World Wide Flash Mob XVI occurring simultaneously around the globe, organized by Team PodCacher.

You've heard of geocaching mega-events? This is quite the opposite in a variety of ways. It is sort of like a micro event, but with many of these events occurring world-wide all at the same time!

This year's theme: Heeeeere's a Flash Mob!

In honor of Norfolk's most famous son, former Tonight Show host Johnny Carson, let's gather at Johnny's "Welcome to Norfolk" sign. We'll get crazy, jump up and down, and wave at the cars as they head into town! Feel free to make your own signs and banners or bring that big "we're number 1 game hand" to use while waving.

In order to simultaneously coincide with all the other Flash Mobs around the world, this event must begin precisely at 12:00 NOON Central Daylight Time on Saturday, June 22nd, 2019. At exactly 12:00 NOON go to the posted coordinates at the Johnny Carson "Welcome to Norfolk" sign.  We'll get crazy, snap some pictures, and enjoy a traditional geocaching snack!!

At precisely 12:15 PM, disperse! The "flash" portion of the event will officially be over. Hide your banners, etc. and quickly leave the area. We'll then head to "Runza" at the additional waypoint listed to continue socializing. The full event will end at around 1:00 pm.

Please log a "will attend" with how many people will be coming. Let's get crazy and have some fun!
