The Night Train
Come and join us at The Doric Arch to meet up and chat about all things geocaching.
The event will take place between 5.30pm and 8pm on Wednesday 7th August 2019
The Doric Arch has ales, wines, whiskies and serves a broad menu until 9pm. It is a pub with lots of railway history and memorabilia which is fitting for a SideTracked Event. The Doric Arch is named after the arch at the front of Euston Station, designed by Phillip Hardwick. It is in fact not really an arch but a 'propylaeum' of the Doric Order. It was built in 1837 and became the gateway to the Midland, a new adventure - unfortunately it only lasted until 1961 when the demolition started and a new railway station was underway. Remnants of the arch have been found in the River Lea.
