WHO'S WHO?
1859
A journey, by train, from Inverness station to Craigellachie, during this period involved the following companies:
| Inverness and Nairn Railway- |
Inverness to Nairn. |
| Inverness and Aberdeen Junction Railway (I&AJR) |
Nairn to Elgin West station. |
| Inverness and Aberdeen Junction Railway |
Elgin West to Rothes, via Orton |
| Morayshire Railway |
Rothes to Craigellachie (Dandaleith). |
To further complicate matters most of the Locomotives and coaches, used to provide this service were owned by the I&AJR company.
Disagreements with the I&AJR eventually forced the Morayshire Railway into constructing a new section of track between its stations at Elgin East Station and Rothes station.
DEC 1859 - Linksfield Level Crossing Halt and Greens of Drainie Halt CLOSED.
