This cache was intended to be named 'Welcome to Country' on two levels- one a welcome to Australia but also a welcome to Aboriginal lands. Not being an Indigenous Australian however it wouldn't be polite!
So instead, I would make an acknowledgment of country and acknowledge that ground zero is on the traditional lands of the Kameygal people of the Eora nation, and pay my respect to Elders both past, present and emerging.
Although the land you stand on is now Sydney International Airport, it was once home to many Aboriginal people who lived off the land for thousands of years. Pause and think about what it must have been like and what they might make of the present scene.
The cache
There were some Aboriginal sculptures and so on originally at GZ but that has since changed, now replaced by the large "SYD" letters.
All you need to do to claim a find is to take a photo of you/ your caching group or your GPSr at the SYD sign (or some evidence, such as a piece of paper with your caching name) to show you were there.
Getting to GZ
If you are arriving or departing on a flight you should be able to grab this one as your arrive or depart the airport terminal. For those just there for the cache, it is possible to catch a train to the airport or utilise the adjacent carparks (for a fee). There is a short express parking option that you may be able to use in your endeavours.
