Geocache Description:

Welcome to Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Historic State Park. We are so lucky to have a little slice of Florida history right in our back porch. Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings moved to this farm in 1928 and this is the area that inspired her to write Cross Creek and the Yearling. Her home was declared a national landmark in 2006. There is a guided tour available to view her home but it's not needed to get credit for the virtual. The sign and kiosk are outside the house area. Enter at the posted coordinates. There was a state park sign but it seems to be missing. Drive around to the waypoint which is the kiosk to the left. There is parking near the kiosk. Photos are not required but feel free to share your adventure here. Question 1. In the large photo, what are the tall trees behind her? Question 2. In the photo with the typewriter, what is in her right hand. Question 3. Same photo, name one item that is on the table other than the typewriter. Question 4 - In the hunting photo, who is she hunting with? Question 5 - Of the people she loved to entertain with, who is pictured? Question 6 - In the boat photo, what animal is she holding? Question 7 - Name one recipe name from the three listed. Question 8 - She was a voice for _______ (two words). Question 9 - Name the two workers in the tenant house photo. Question 10 - Where can you still find her garden? You can have access to the trails and farm yard 9-5 365 days a year. Tours are provided Thursday through Sunday 1 -4 for a fee. They do not run Thanksgiving, Christmas, August or September.
