As of June 2020, photos taken from a vehicle will no longer be accepted and sadly, logs without a photo will also be deleted!
It was my pleasure to be chosen as one of the Virtual 2.0 cache recipients. I wanted to share the feeling with others.
The Town of Banff and Parks Canada have allowed this virtual cache to be placed for the enjoyment of all, provided everyone follow the simple rules of etiquette and courtesy.
1] Parking is found at the train station parking lot.Do Not park along the side of the road.
2] If there are lineups at the sign during busy periods, be patient with those ahead of you.
Cache Logging Requirements
1] Post a photo of yourself or your group at the sign. The photo should include you, your GPS or phone, along with the sign.
2] Message me through geocaching.com describing what you see underneath the stone benches directly in front of the sign [hint: not rock or gravel but something man made]. This is not required when there's too much snow!
3] Each "found" log must post a unique photo. Photo to be posted with log[NOT emailed or messaged to me].
4] Mention in your log where you are visiting from[optional]
Banff is a popular destination visited by millions of tourists from Canada and around the world every year! People love to have their pictures taken with the sign. Come and join in the fun!
