Is a song by the English rock band The Beatles that was released in April 1963 as their third single. Paul McCartney and John Lennon wrote it. The song was the Beatles' first number 1 hit on what became the official UK singles chart.
In June 1964 British pop group The Beatles immortalised the Adelaide Town Hall, greeting over 300,000 adoring fans from the balcony. The Beatles were not scheduled to tour in Adelaide but a campaign by radio DJ Bob Francis facilitated the change of plans and the band played four concerts to a packed Centennial Hall on June 12 and 13.

To commemorate the famous visit a glass installation has been fitted to the Town Hall balcony where John, Paul, George and Jimmy greeted crowds. The artwork is photo-realistic and was created using multiple reference images from The Beatles' time in Adelaide. The artwork is fired onto a sheet of 15mm thick toughened glass and is expected to be the largest installation of its kind in Adelaide.
Access to the Town Hall balcony is normally available between 8.30 am and 5.00 pm dependent on if the area is in use for a function.
