정조대왕 능행 반차도
청계천변에 있는 캐시존에는 정조대왕능행반차도가 설치되어 있습니다. 이것은 세계 최대의 도자벽화라는 기록을 가지고 있습니다. (길이 194미터, 높이 2.4미터) 천천히 산책하면서 조선시대 왕의 행차 모습을 감상하세요.
조선왕조 제 22대 임금 정조대왕은 1795년 윤 2월에 사도세자의 회갑을 기념하기위해 모친 혜경궁 홍씨를 모시고 화성(수원)과 현륭원 (사도세자 무덤)을 다녀와서 그 과정을 상세하게 기록한 '원행을묘정리의궤'를 편찬했다. 이 책에는 왕의 행차가 창덕궁을 떠나 광통교를 건너 화성으로 가는 모습 이 판각화로 그려져 있는데, 1,779명의 인원과 779필의 말이 따르고 있다. 김홍도 등 당대의 일류 화가들이 그린 이 반차도는 왕조의 위엄과 질서를 장엄하게 표현하면서도 낙천적이고 자유분방한 인물묘사가 돋보인다. 왕실기록화이자 한 폭의 커다란 풍속화를 연상시키는 이 반차도는 당시 행차의 격식과 복식, 의상, 악대구성 등을 살필 수 있는 귀중한 역사적 가치를 지니고 있다. 이곳에 설치된 작품은 역사학자의 고증을 거쳐 미술 전문가의 노력으로 재현되었다.

그런데 이상한 것은 정조의 모습은 보이지 않고 그냥 안장만 올려놓은 빈말만 그려져 있다. 그 이유는 임금의 모습을 절대 그리지 않는 관습에 따른 것이다. 임금의 모습은 임금의 초상화인 어진을 제외하고는 절대 그리지 않는다. 왜냐하면 용안이 널리 알려지게 되면 임금의 안위에 문제가 생길 수도 있고, 또한 절대지존에 대한 경외감도 미지의 상태에서 최고조로 유지되기 때문이다. 따라서 혜경궁을 따라가는 빈 말(좌마座馬)는 실제 정조를 나타내는 것이고, 그 이유 때문에 옆에서 시종들이 일산(日傘)과 부채(扇)를 들고 따라가고 있다.

At the cache zone along the Cheonggyecheon stream, there is a artwork describing King Jeongjo's procession to his father's tomb. It has a record of being the world's largest ceramic mural. (Length 194 meters, Height 2.4 meters) Take a slow walk and watch the king's procession in Joseon Dynasty!
In the second lunar month of 1795, King Jeongjo, the 22nd monarch of the Joseon Dynasty, accompanied by his mother, Queen Hyegyeonggung Hong, visited the tomb of his father, Prince Sado, at Hwaseong (today's Suwon) to commemorate his father's 60th birthday. Upon returning to Seoul, the king ordered the compilation of WonHaengEulMyoJeongNiEuGwae, a volume of sketches commemorating King Jeongjo's royal progress to Suwon. This book includes paintings showing the royal procession departing from Changdeokgung Palace and crossing Gwangtonggyo Bridge to Hwaseong with an entourage of 1,779 people and 779 horses. The most talented court painters, including Kim Hong-do, were commissioned to produce this piece. It fully expresses the dignity and authority of the royal court and the free-spirited and joyful mood of the people. This piece is of great historical value as it is both a genre painting and a documentary painting on the royal court: It provides insight into the form alities, customs, and composition of a royal procession of the times.

However, the strange thing is that the figure of Jeongjo is not visible, and only a horse with a saddle is drawn. This is because of the custom of never drawing the figure of a king. The king is never drawn except for the king's portrait, EoJin. This is because if the king's face is widely known, safety problems can arise, and the awe of the absolute authority in the unknown state must remain at its peak. Therefore, the empty horse following Hyegyeonggung represents the actual King Jeongjo, and for that reason, attendants are following with sunshade and fan.
