Vi har valgt at lægge denne Virtuelle cache her i Rødby Lystskov, dette fordi skoven har eksisteret i rigtig mange år og det kommer den sikkert også til i mange år endnu.
Desuden har CO brugt skoven som legeplads lige fra den dag han var gammel nok til selv at løbe og lege, der er blevet leget røver og soldater samt kørt cykel- ræs på de små stier og bakker der gemmer sig blandt træerne.
Rødby kommune købte i tidernes morgen Skoven af Sædinge kommune og der blev i 1892 opført en Skovpavillon. Den blev brugt til mangt og meget og til sidst blev den for lille og måtte udvides. Diverse skole og sommerudflugter m.m. fra andre egne af Lolland skabte i 1920'erne og 1930'erne en vældig liv og røre i bygningen og omgivelser. Den er for længst borte den gik til ved en brand og i 2019 blev der placeret et madpakkehus på ca. det sted hvor Skovpavillonen lå, dog skulle Naturstyrelsen give lov til at placere madpakkehuset inde i fredskoven.
Der har altid foregået et eller andet i skoven bl.a. har der i mange år været afholdt 1. Maj møder og mange søgte der ned for at hygge sig med madkurven, gå en tur samt se på livet på campingpladsen om sommeren. Ved siden af skoven lå en campingplads den har eksisterede i rigtig mange år, men i 2016 var den epoke slut, campingpladsen lukkede og der skulle plantes skov der hvor den lå. Dog forsøgte Lolland kommune at sælge fra men der viste sig ingen seriøse købere.
Kommunen startede med at rydde op i skoven, der blev fældet en masse træer. Ja, det så næsten ud til at alle træerne skulle lægges ned, men endelig stoppede de og vores træ stod der heldigvis endnu. (Vores træ er det træ, hvori der er skåret et hjerte med vore initialer.)
Nu er alle projekter færdig og der er blevet anlagt en motionsbane med forskellige motionsredskaber samt en kælkebakke og en legeplads samt alle stierne er blevet renoverede og en lille dam er renset op og skal igen fyldes med vand og måske også nogle salamandere.
