Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Charles Darwin Research Center in Galapagos National Park on Santa Cruz Island, Ecuador! My dad and I took a vacation here to celebrate my PhD graduation. This is the one place in the world I wanted to go! It was the trip of a lifetime! For you fellow science lovers, I wanted to put a virtual reward cache here. I hope to come back here some day.

These coordinates are at a place you have to walk past to get to the research station, but you must be careful on one side of the road (actually both sides, since the tree covers the whole road). This tree is poisonous, so do NOT touch it; heed the warning sign! Do not eat the fruit! To log the cache, take a photo of you or your travel bugs, backpack, etc with the tree in the background.

Terrain is a 3.5 because you have to hike to the cache after making your way to the island after getting permission to enter the Galapagos!

Virtual Rewards 2.0 - 2019/2020

This Virtual Cache is part of a limited release of Virtuals created between June 4, 2019 and June 4, 2020. Only 4,000 cache owners were given the opportunity to hide a Virtual Cache. Learn more about Virtual Rewards 2.0 on the Geocaching Blog.
