The Winnipeg Blue Bombers football team playing in the Canadian Football League (CFL) have enjoyed much success during their history. One reason for this success is the incredible coaches they have had through the years, two of which are honoured outside of IG Field, namely Bud Grant and Cal Murphy!
Bud Grant played for the Bombers from 1953-56 and then became coach of the Bombers for 10 seasons between 1957-66, leading the team to 4 Grey Cup championships as a coach!
Cal Murphy was the General Manager of the Bombers from 1983-96 and also served as coach of the team on two separate occasions from 1983-86 and again from 1993-96. In 1984, Cal coached the Bombers to a Grey Cup championship and they won again in 1988 and 1990 with Cal at the helm!
To log this geocache you will have to visit both statues located outside IG Field where the Blue Bombers play their home games. Please send answers to the following questions to the cache owner:
1. At the Cal Murphy statue, the artist has carved their name into the base of the statue, behind Cal's feet. What is the name and year carved into the statue?
2. At the Bud Grant statue, what is the last word written in the front of the stone base that the statue is sitting on?
