Centrálnu historickú mestskú zónu Bardejova tvorí Radničné námestie. Je to obdĺžnikové námestie, ktoré je z troch strán obklopené 46 meštianskymi domami s typickými rovnými priečeliami. Štvrtú stranu ohraničuje bazilika sv. Egídia a budova niekdajšej mestskej humanistickej školy. Zachovalé stredoveké centrum je od roku 2000 zapísané medzi lokality Svetového dedičstva UNESCO.
Dominantou námestia je goticko – renesančná radnica postavená v rokoch 1505 -1509. Ide o prvú budovu na Slovensku s renesančnými výtvarnými a architektonickými prvkami. Prízemie radnice postavil majster Alexander v gotickom štýle. Naň majstri Alexius a Ján z Prešova pristavali renesančné poschodie s bohato zdobeným vstupným arkierom. Pri prehliadke exteriéru radnice uvidíte viacero umeleckých detailov: portály, schodiská, nápadnú sochu rytiera Rolanda i ďalšie sochy na štítoch radnice (lev, muž s bradou, mačka, opica, obchodník s plátnom, démon, muž s presýpacími hodinami, drak, kráľ, kamenár, muž s palicou), 118 kamenných plastík pod rímsou radnice (najznámejšia zobrazuje chlapca, ktorý ukazuje holý zadok), tiež maľované erby, hodiny či bohato zdobený arkier na východnej strane, kde na štítoch a v poliach nad a pod oknami vidieť erby a monogramy členov mestskej rady.
My však chceme upriamiť vašu pozornosť na západnú fasádu radnice. Na juhozápadnom rohu sa zachovali dve duté mestské miery z rokov 1519 a 1620, ktorými sa pri predaji meralo obilie a strukoviny. Mestský erb, iniciálky vtedajšieho richtára a letopočet vyhotovenia na mierach garantovali ich vierohodnosť.
Dnes je v priestoroch radnice trvalo umiestnená historická expozícia Šarišského múzea: Bardejov – Slobodné kráľovské mesto. Môžete si tam prezrieť ďalšie váhy a meradlá, ale aj originálny maľovaný štít arkiera či fragment pôvodnej sochy rytiera Rolanda.

EN: The central historical part of Bardejov is the Town Hall Square. It is a rectangular square on three sides surrounded by 46 burgher houses with typical straight facades. The fourth side is occupied by the basilica of st. Egidius and the building of the former urban humanistic school. A well-preserved medieval center has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000. The dominant of the square is the gothic-renaissance town hall built in 1505-1509. It is the first building in Slovakia with renaissance artistic and architectural elements. The ground floor of the town hall was built by Master Alexander in gothic style. On it, masters Alexius and Ján from Prešov added a renaissance floor with a richly decorated entrance bay. When observing the exterior of the town hall, you will see several artistic details: portals, staircases, a striking statue of the knight Roland and other statues on the town hall facades, clocks. However, we want to draw your attention to the western facade of the town hall. Two hollow urban measures from the years 1519 and 1620 have been preserved in the southwest corner, measuring amount of grain and legumes on sale. The city coat of arms, the initials of the then mayor and the date of the tailor made, which guaranteed their credibility. They are called "merice". Nowadays the historical exposition of the Šariš Museum is permanently located in the town hall premises: Bardejov - Free Royal Town.
