Geocache Description:

[The Source of the Mighty Columbia River System. Take a short walk from the parking area to the headwaters. This is the place where the Columbia Lake begins, and is widely accepted as the beginning of the entire Columbia River System beginning with the headwaters at Canal Flats in the southeast corner of British Columbia traveling north before a sharp turn and turning south and continuing through Washington and Oregon states to the Pacific Ocean. Some say the Columbia River starts at the other end of Columbia Lake, where the Columbia river begins, but this is where the water enters Columbia Lake which the Columbia River flows from. The Columbia River is the largest river in the Pacific Northwest region of North America and travels 2000km before ending at Astoria Oregon. To claim this cache, please include a photo showing you, your caching name written on anything, or your gps, and including the sign in front of you as you look towards the beginning of the stream.]
