Cette statue se trouve sur l'avenue Marquette, près de la mairie de Baie-Comeau, Québec, Canada.
Selon Wikipedia, Robert Rutherford "Colonel" Mc Cormick (30 juillet 1880 - 1er avril 1955) était un magnat des journaux de Chicago et le propriétaire du Chicago Tribune. Veritable visionnair de l'industrie, il convainc la compagnie de construire une autre usine de papier journal et de fonder Baie Comeau en 1936, il créa la ville de Baie-Comeau au Québec et y construisant une centrale hydroélectrique et une usine à papier.
Il participe a la Premiere Guerre mondiale (1914-1918), ou il abtient le grade de colonel.
Lors d'une exploration, il se perd dans la tempete au nord de Shelter Bay et est recueilli par la Montagnais XX-XXXX St Onge auquel il sera reconnaissant toute sa vie.
La statue de bronze plus grande que nature dévoilée en 19XX, est l'oeuvre de Wheeler Williams.
Sur le site de "Large Canadian Roadside Attractions", la statue est connue sous le nom de "Canoe Paddler".

The statue is located on Marquette Avenue, near the town hall of Baie-Comeau, Quebec, Canada.
According to Wikipedia, Robert Rutherford "Colonel" McCormick (July 30, 1880 – April 1, 1955) was a member of the McCormick family of Chicago who became owner and publisher of the Chicago Tribune newspaper. In 1936, he founded the city of Baie-Comeau, constructing a hydroelectric plant and a paper mill.
He participates in the First World War (1914-1918) where he obtains the rank of Colonel.
During an exploration trip, and lost in a snowstorm north of Shelter Bay he is sheltered by a Montagnais, XX-XXXXX Saint-Onge, to whom, he pledges eternal gratitude.
The oversize bronze statue unveiled in 19XX, is the work of Wheeler Williams.
