In 1992 Italian fashion designer Gianni Versace purchased this Mediterranean Revival style building. Versace transformed the structure from a 24-unit apartment building into an 8-bedroom mansion.
In 1997 Versace was tragically murdered on these steps after returning home from a morning walk.
The mansion has been remodeled once again and today it is a restaurant and hotel.
