the lorrie feeding area is free to enter at all times between 8am and 5pm

while the bird feeding itself is only at 8am and 4pm you are welcome to enter and visit the feeding area at all times between 8am and 5pm daily

there are always some lorries hanging around to show off

to claim this virtual please enter the lorrie feeding area and check out a couple of the info signs as well as the amazing ferris wheel the lorries like to hang out on

a. how many arms are on the ferris wheel

b. who is the founder of Currumbin Bird Sanctuary

c. what the lorries are fed

Currumbin wildlife sanctuary was build in 1947 and added to the Queensland Heritage Register in 2009

originally named the Currumbin Bird Sanctuary it was renamed in 1995 to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary

it houses one of the largest collections of native Australian species in the world and has the largest walk through aviary in the southern hemisphere

our personal connection to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is Dr Pyne ... he was our local bird vet for many years
