Gangsåstoppen
Virtual Rewards 2.0 - 2019/2020
Åsryggen, som er ubebygd, består av 3 topper – Gangsåstoppen i sør, Steinhammeren i midten og Ramfløya lengst nord – men på folkemunne kalles hele området for Gangsåstoppen. Toppen er 180 meter over havet. Fra sørsiden av åsen går det en merket sti fra parkeringsplassen i Toppenveien (innkjøring fra Østeråsveien). Det fins også andre stier opp, for eksempel fra Øvre Gangsås og Hestvika. Fra parkeringen tar det 20 minutter å gå til toppen.
Fra Gangsåstoppen har man full utsikt vestover mot bykjernen i Harstad samt flere av toppene rundt, som Middagsfjellet og Hinnstein. En ser mot øst Rolla og fastlandet, mot sør Tjeldsundet og mot nord Grytøya og Senja.På veggen til gapahuken finner du et kart over området med alle fjellene merket slik at du har et referansepunkt.
The ending ås in Gangsås means hill, and the top of the hill is called Gangsåstoppen. It is uninhabited, has an elevation of approximately 180 metres (590 ft) above sea level, and has one of the best views of the city (to the west) and the surrounding areas, including the hills Middagsfjellet and Hinnstein. To the east one sees the island of Rolla and the mainland, to the south is the Tjeldsundet strait, and to the north are the islands of Grytøya and Senja.
A marked path leads to Gangsåstoppen from the car park at the end of the Toppenveien road. The trip takes about 20 minutes, and there is a mail box at the top where one may sign the guest book.

How to log the cache
This is a virtual geocache, there is no box to find. To claim a find you must travel to the given coordinates and take a picture of yourself close to the binoculars and Harstad in the background. You may or may not include your face in the picture. Upload the picture as you log the find online.
