The given coordinates are... true! But there's tasks.
I received a Virtual Reward back in 2019. I puzzled (heh) over what to do with it for a little while as I didn't think a puzzle as would be found in a Mystery cache would be appropriate for a Virtual cache. Then it hit me... and so the idea for this Virtual was born. It's taken me many months to get up to the site myself and scout it out, but here it is.
To log a find for this cache you must perform at least one of the two following tasks.
Task One
Take a photo at or near the location. The photo must include:
- One or more of the following:
- yourself
- your GPSr
- an item such as a personal TB
- AND: One or more of the, erm, unique features at this location. There are plenty to choose from - any one of them will do as long as it is clearly identifiable.
You may post the photo along with your log. Groups may use the same photo for more than one log but everyone in the group (or their GPSr, or their item) must be present in the photo.
Task Two
Answer me these questions four:
- How many windows are there on the Leaning Tower of Wanaka?
- Put these colours in order from left to right: green, red, blue, yellow
Inside, there is a (now-defunct) challenge that had a $100,000 reward. What was the original search radius (when the challenge first began)?
- Also inside, there is a puzzle on one of the tables called Tower Of Wanaka (not related to the Leaning Tower outside). What is the minimum amount of moves required to solve Tower Of Wanaka?
If you attempt Task Two, check the facility's opening hours before arrival. Entry to the main foyer and gift shop is free at time of writing; you will not need to pay to answer any of the above questions. Please ensure you follow any and all public health guidelines and restrictions.
Answers should be messaged to me using the Geocaching message system or via my email (accessible from my profile page). You may log your find in anticipation of my response, but if questions are not answered correctly I may remove your log.
Also, if you attempt Task Two, you may answer any or all of the following bonus questions (these are not necessary to complete Task Two and you can submit your log without answering them):
2a. Once you've ordered the colours, you may find this order appear elsewhere in the facility. Where? (Hint: there are at least two other places aside from the sign out front!)
3a. My favourite one of these showcased here is Optical Illusion. What are they?
3b. Name any one of the famous faces on display.
5a. One other puzzle on display here was famously invented by a New Zealander. Name the puzzle.
Good luck, have fun, and happy puzzling!
