Geocache Description:

Waipio Valley is one of the most amazing places on Hawaii's Big Island.

To get to Waipio Valley, turn off of the Hawaii Belt Road (Highway 19) onto Highway 240 at the town of Honokaa. Follow Highway 240 for about 9.5 miles where it dead ends at the valley's lookout point. THe road down is currently closed for safety reasons.

To claim this cache, either take a picture of yourself or your group at the lookout and post it on your log page or answers the following questions (the answers can be found on the signs at the lookout) send us the answers.  We prefer the picture!

The questions are:

1. Who is the Chief?

2. Who is the servant?

3. What year did a tidal wave destroy the Paka’alana Temple and ancient home sites?

4. Optional - Post a picture of yourself or your group at the lookout with the valley behind you. Take care not to include any signs that give information about the cache answers.

Please Note: Do not post answers in your log. Go ahead and log your find, (you do not need to wait for permission) when the correct answers have been sent or the right picture has been taken and uploaded with the log. Logs without the correct answers emailed or correct picture will be deleted.

We hope you enjoy Waipio Valley as much as we do.
