Die Riegersburg ist eine mittelalterliche Festung auf einem ruhenden Vulkan in der Südost-Steiermark
Die erste urkundliche Erwähnung der Riegersburg stammt aus dem Jahre 1138. Hier scheint die Bezeichnung „Ruotkerspurch“ auf, was sich vom damaligen Besitzer namens Rüdiger von Hohenberg ableiten lässt.
Zahlreiche archäologische Funde zeugen von einer Besiedlung des Burgbergs aufgrund der besonderen Schutzlage schon vor 6.000 Jahren.
Logbedingung:
Vom Parkplatz aus führt ein Geh-und Radweg (Trailhead) zum Burgaufgang ins Ortszentrum.
Am Weg dorthin passiert man Stage 1 (Fotostandpunkt - N 47° 00.295 E 015° 55.845)
Mache ein Bild von dir oder einem persönlichen Gegenstand,
der Riegersburg im Hintergrund und einem Zettel mit Datum und Nickname.
Es werden nur Fotos von diesem Standpunkt akzeptiert - siehe Beispielfoto!
Bei Stage 2 (Burgaufgang im Zentrum - N 47° 00.078 E 015° 56.035) angekommen,
schaut Euch in der Nähe der Schatzkammer etwas um, dort findet ihr das Burggespenst.
Wie lautet der eigentliche Name des Gespenstes?
Nun geht rauf zum Drehkreuz, rechts davon unter der Lampe ist ein Schild montiert.
Welche zwei Bilder kann man darauf sehen?
Sendet mir die beiden Antworten per Mail - Logfreigabe braucht ihr keine abwarten, falls etwas nicht passen sollte, melde ich mich!
Natürlich sind auch Fotos vom Inneren der Burganlage gerne gesehen - ist jedoch keine Logbedingung, da diese über die Wintermonate leider nicht zugänglich ist.

Riegersburg castle is a medieval fortress located on dormant volcano in the southeastern part of Styria.
The castle was first mentioned in a document in 1138 as "Ruotkerspurch" (Rüdiger's castle), a name which goes back to the knight Rüdiger von Hohenberg who owned the castle at that time.
As numerous archeological finds demonstrate the rock on which the castle is located has already been settled 6000 years ago.
Logging requirements:
There are two logging tasks to be fulfilled at Stages 1 and 2, respectively.
Note that an entrance fee needs to be paid to access the castle hill (both via the foot path and via the lift) as well as the castle itself. Stages 1 and 2 of this cache are however freely accessible.
Motorized vehicles can be left at the castle's parking area. From there a foot and cycle path (see trailhead) leads to Stage 1 and further on to the city centre.
Logging task 1: Take a photo at Stage 1
Go to Stage 1 at N 47° 00.295 E 015° 55.845.
Take there a photo of you or a personal item showing the castle in the background.
The photo needs to include a slip of paper with your nickname and the date of your visit (see example photo).
Please upload your photo to your log. Note that only photos taken directly at Stage 1 will be accepted.
Logging task 2: Two questions to answer at Stage 2
From Stage 1 follow the path further on to Stage 2 at N 47° 00.078 E 015° 56.035.
There the historic foot trail that leads up to the castle starts.
Q1: Watch out for the castle's ghost in the vicinity of the treasure chamber (Schatzkammer in German).
What's the name of the ghost?
Q2: Now continue upwards to the turnstile. At the right side of it watch out for a sign underneath a lamp.
What is shown on the two pictures on this sign?

Photos taken inside the restricted fortress area (castle hill, castle) are very much welcome, but not required as the area is closed in the winter months and an entrance fee has to be paid in the warmer season.
