Orr Park and Tinglewood Trail
My wife and I love geocahing for many reasons, but one is the fact that it brings you to cool places that you might not have otherwise known about (Places like GCK31A). This park is definitely one of those. We discovered this park on a road trip and it always stuck out as one of our favorite memories and we hope that it will be a good memory for you, too.
One of the most unique parks and nature preserves in the South, Orr Park is a beautiful preserve along Shoal Creek. The park features traditional amenities such as picnic tables, walking trails, a recreation center, ball-fields and more. After you walk across the bridge over Shoal Creek, you will see a paved walking path - feel free to go right or left and walk the short loop around the trail.
What really makes Orr Park unique is the unusual effort to preserve the park's old cedar trees - these magical tree carvings throughout Tinglewood trail will be your focus for this cache. Tinglewood is credited to Mr. Tim Tingle, a coal miner by trade, who took it upon himself to transform these storm-damaged cedar trees into glorious works of art in the early 1990’s. He continues to bless the city with his talents for residents and visitors to enjoy. Thank you Mr. Tingle!!

Take and post a selfie with a tree carving!
Detailed Version:
Take a deep breath and go on a short relaxing walk on the paved loop path along Shoal Creek that is Tinglewood Trail. On your journey you will encounter many interesting creatures and faces in the trees.... But fear not - they are all friendly and like to be in photos!
To log this Virtual Cache: visit the park, explore Tinglewood, and then Post a photo of yourself with your favorite Tinglewood Carving with your Found It log to validate your find. Have fun with it!
The photo in your Found It log must include your favorite carving and either you, your GPSr, a personal/signature item, or simply a piece of paper with your geocaching name on it - your face is not required in the photo if you do not want it to be.
Unfortunately, to maintain the integrity of this Virtual, Found It logs without the logging requirement photo attached may be deleted without notice. Please, attach the photo to the Found It log and do not email/message the photo. Please, attach a photo to each cacher's Found It log (please, no "see my friend's log for photo" logs) - if you take a fun group photo that is Great and everyone in the photo can use the same image for their logs, just please attach a copy of the photo to all the individual Found It logs.
