Caval ëd Brons ( [ka?val?t'br??z], in italiano Cavallo di Bronzo) è il tipico nome piemontese con cui viene chiamato il monumento equestre ad Emanuele Filiberto collocato in piazza san Carlo, il salotto di Torino. Per molti aspetti questo monumento viene visto come simbolo della stessa città di Torino.
La statua equestre del Duca si erge al centro della piazza con particolare imponenza. Ritrae Emanuele Filiberto nell'atto di ringuainare la spada dopo la gloriosa vittoria ottenuta nella Battaglia di San Quintino, alla quale alludono i sottostanti bassorilievi. La statua poggia su un piedistallo in granito rosso di Baveno, con intagli di bronzo che ornano la base e la cimasa; su ogni lato è presente lo stemma sabaudo con la corona ducale.
Se la statua è stata fusa dal Marocchetti a Parigi, il basamento è invece stato curato a Torino, dal Bonsignore. I due bassorilievi che lo ornano raffigurano due atti delle guerre d'Italia a cui partecipò il duca Testa di Ferro: quello ad ovest descrive la Battaglia di San Quintino, quello ad est la pace di Cateau-Cambrésis.
Alla sera il monumento è illuminato da uno speciale impianto luci.

Per poter logare il cache è sufficiente:

1. Andate alle coordinate del listing. Nel basamento è inserito un fregio rappresentante una scena di guerra --> A = NUMERO DI CAVALLI PRESENTI NELLA SCENA. Scattatevi una foto (se siete timidi e non volete mostrarvi, basta una foto del gps) con alle spalle il monumento. La foto sarà da allegare al vostro log;

2. Posizionatevi ora di fronte al cavallo della statua. Una zampa è sollevata: contate i chiodi del ferro di cavallo --> B = NUMERO DI CHIODI;

3. Posizionatevi dietro al cavallo. Nel basamento è incisa un'iscrizione --> C = PRIMA PAROLA DELLA PRIMA RIGA (6 lettere);

4. Recatevi al numero civico 206, sotto i portici. Troverete un portone sormontato dalla ringhiera del mezzanino riportante due date --> D = PRIMA DATA CHE LEGGETE. Nei pressi di questo portone, sempre sotto i portici, troverete una "stranezza" nella pavimentazione. Questa "stranezza" ha una parte più concava: calpestatela!

Raccolti i 4 indizi, per poter logare il cache come found, inviate una mail all'indirizzo, inserendo nell'oggetto della mail il vostro nickname Geocaching:

Caval ëd Brons: The Caval ëd Brons, literally translated as Bronze Horse, is the typical Piedmontese name which is called the equestrian monument to Emanuele Filiberto located in Piazza San Carlo, Turin's "living room". In many respects, this monument is seen as a symbol of the city of Turin.
The equestrian statue of the Duke stands at the center of the square with particular impressiveness. It portrays the act of Emanuele Filiberto sheathe the sword after the glorious victory at the Battle of St. Quintino, which allude to the underlying bas-reliefs. The statue stands on a pedestal of red granite of Baveno, bronze carvings that adorn the base and the cornice, on each side there is the Savoy coat of arms with the ducal crown.
If the statue was cast in Paris by Marocchetti, the base was, however, kept in Turin from Bonsignore. The two bas-reliefs that adorn two acts depicting the wars of Italy he attended the Duke Testa di Ferro (Iron Head): the West one describes the Battle of St. Quintino, the east one the peace of Cateau-Cambresis.
In the evening the monument is illuminated by a special lighting system.

These are the steps to log the cache:

1. Go to the coordinates of the listing. In the base is inserted a frieze representing a war scene --> A = NUMBER OF HORSES PRESENT IN THE SCENE. Take a picture (if you are shy and don't want to show yourself, just a photo of the GPS) with the monument behind you. The photo must be attached to your log;

2. Position yourself in front of the statue's horse. One leg is raised: count the nails of the horseshoe --> B = NUMBER OF NAILS;

3. Stand behind the horse. An inscription is engraved in the base --> C = FIRST WORD OF THE FIRST LINE (6 letters);

4. Go to street number 206, under the arcades. You will find a door surmounted by the mezzanine railing bearing two dates --> D = FIRST DATE YOU READ. Near this door, always under the arcades, you will find a "strangeness" in the pavement. This "strangeness" has a more concave part: trample it!

Collected the 4 clues, to be able to log the cache as found, send an e-mail to the address, inserting your Geocaching nickname in the object of the e-mail:

If the answers are correct, you will receive the confirmation email, with the explanation of why trample on the "strangeness".
